QUAKE’s Q9612 is the only Iridium Short Data Burst (SBD) solution on the market that can natively withstand 12 volt automotive transients. The Q9612 combines the global coverage of the Iridium Satellite Network with the low latency of the Iridium Short Burst Data (SBD) service. The Q9612 module has 9-18V power conditioning, can be installed directly onto a 12V vehicle and is interfaced with an RS-232 serial port. The modem is programmable through an AT Command Set Interface and is contained within a small footprint package and designed to optimize two-way data links.
Because the Iridium Satellite System incorporates 66 low-earth-orbit satellites, the Q9612 can deliver low-latency communications and true global coverage. Typical global latency of the Q9612 is less than thirty seconds, making the Q9612 appropriate not only for routine communications but also for utilization in applications where delays in communication are unacceptable, such as those involving safety and emergency situations.
The Q9612 is an ideal solution for information-critical applications in almost every part of the globe.
